This venue has become notorious to me for some of the most piss poor promotion (not always the venue’s fault) and horribly bad timing for the shows (not %100 the venues fault but close) and just bad treatment for the artists. Unfortunately “In the Venue” is one of the biggest and busiest venues in the valley for the punk music I usually listen to.
Once again the gripes against the venue are plenty. Last week my ticket said they started at 7:00 and when I go there at 6:30 they had already been playing for half an hour. Stung once I double checked the start time on every ticket website I could (In the Venue doesn’t maintain their own). They said that show opened at 5:30.
This time I got there at 5:35 and the bands hadn’t even started sound checks, and there were maybe a total of 50 people milling around. Bored I retreated up to the balcony to do some crowd watching for the next hour and a half.
