Biography

AntiGravity (Ivan Vargas)… man or machine? nobody knows!

At a young age Ivan discovered a mysterious ability to break beats into inner and outer sonic exploration, starting a musical society with other kinds of electronic machines, especially computers, looking to minimize the earthly attraction effects on humans and to successfully create a sound based device, able to induce sonic levitation on the brain.

Since then he has been defying gravity on dancefloors alongside some of the most recognized producers in the trance scene as well as collaborating, remixing and reconstructing underground recorded material.

In 2006 (still as a top secret project) meeting John Phantasm and introducing him to the “artificial levitation device” , joining his label the same year to start the development of new sounds and sequence techniques. In the same year creating “The Ataris” – working together with Substance (Victor Aguilar) while rejecting any preconceived notion of how make the speakers move.

Now ripening his sound into an aggressive sophisticated mix of auricular delight and a fusion of styles taking you into a sound experience that isn’t only for for trance heads, giving him the chance to play almost every week all across the country.

Finally he decided to go going outside of the underground secret laboratory life and this young smart music concept started to get global attention, being played by many DJ’s disturbing sound systems, taking his sound world wide, making Anti-Gravity one of Mexico’s most respected acts.
