Fall From Grace
Words: Tom Taylor
Music: Steve Smith

Fall From Grace is the second track on the band’s debut EP A New Beginning.

The song was written over three weeks in June 2006 as part of a set of songs planned to tell a fictional story based on the character found in the song ‘The King Of Dread’. The song was also written so that Tom and Steve could write a song that could actually be worked on, instead of the band always working on songs brought to the band by the band’s second guitarist.

The song wouldn’t be worked on by the full band until November 2006 and was first recorded in January 2007 for the band’s second demo Satanic Cuckoo Clock, but was left off the finished recording.

The song made its live debut in March 2008 and, to date, has only been played at six of the band’s shows. It is known for the long note held by Tom Taylor at the end of the song, which last for 14 seconds on the EP and has stretched to 23 seconds live.

The song is about the downfall of someone who is holding others down.
