Ottawa, Canada (1984 – present)

Annihilator is a band founded by Jeff Waters in Ottawa, Canada in 1984.

Along with singer John Bates, the original line-up was complete when drummer Paul Malek and bassist Dave Scott (Richer) joined the band.
Bates and Scott decided to leave the following year citing artistic differences and personality conflicts. Waters relocated to Vancouver where he assembled a whole new line-up, including former D.O.A. member Randy Rampage. Waters has continued to shuffle the line-up, including singers, throughout the band’s history.

I don't know any other guitarist at thrash metal, who will be more technically clean and more advanced at songwriting with keeping the old-school approach except Jeff Waters. He is the beastly player as on tape so as at live! Even Skolnick or Murphy, getting nervous beside Waters.

Please untag that this is like Megadeth. Annihilator is nothing like them.

i will never understand why they are so underrated. This band is one of the best thing ever happen to music, but it seems that people just can't notice that. too bad :/

I hope Dave Padden stays at Annihilator for a long time. His voice fits perfect to all Annihilator-songs. The performance on Masters Of Rock, Re-Kill and other live stuff is just great. Songs like Never, Neverland, The Fun Palace and Alison Hell are MUCH better performed by him than by Joe Comeau for example, who is a great singer anyway. [3] perfect opinion.
