• The saddest/most beautiful songs I have.

    11 May 2007, 06:57 by The-flesh-star

Just because I'm bored.. and I can.
These are in alphabetic order by artist, they aren't ranked by any means.

    Uninvited
I've loved this song since I heard it back in the 90's. There's something incredibly haunting about Alanis' voice in this song. Although the acoustic version is a lot a better then the City of Angels version.

    November
This song got recommended to me by a friend who has impeccable taste in music (thank you Georgia.) It's sad for reasons I don't need to explain. Listening to the song explains why instantaneously.

    Widow of a Living Man
Thanks to Mike for introducing me to this unbelievable track. The lyrics to Widow Of A Living Man make up half the reason it's so great. The other half being the technique in which Ben Harper sings this song. It's as though his voice is on the verge of breaking (in a 'into hysterical sobbing' sort of way as apposed to a pubescent way...just to clear that up)

    Jah Work
Another amazing song by Ben Harper…

  • Changed Icon and New Music

    6 Dec 2006, 22:55 by Rynoa

So I'm a nerd and I made this new mage icon based off of World of Warcraft. I have a level 43 mage that's near and dear to my heart. I love my little dinosaur drinking the soda though, so I'll definitely bring that back. I have a feeling I'll be changing my icon frequently.

I've been downloading a lot of new Japanese music fresh off of the Oricon charts, but does anyone know where I can download new Korean releases? If you do, please let me know.

Currently, the song with the most plays on my iTunes (I recently cleared it) is Breathe (2AM) by Anna Nalick. I sang this song a lot in karaoke when I was in Japan because my host family always wanted me to sing English stuff.

I have a wife. Most days this is a great thing. I love her with all my heart, but she doesn't like me spending money on music. This put a big damper on me when I wanted to go out and buy the newest CD. She'd always come up with some reason I shouldn't and we'd spend the 10-14 bucks on the dogs instead. But I still want music. I'm not obsessive, but I like to attempt to keep a fresh bit of new music and follow my favorites artist's catalogue. I can catch her every now and then. She's a single girl and will let me spend 0.99 cents on the iTunes Music Store for her every now and then, and in doing so I can grab some music too. She most recently wanted If You're Going Through Hell (Before The Devil Even Knows), which gave me the chance to pick up the new Barenaked Ladies new single: Easy. I'm very excited for the new album in September, love the new singles, but I digress.

Enter http://yourmusic.com. This is a great site and was able to talk my wife into letting me become a member, now I can get a music fix at least once a month. …

  • I Love Me Some Anna Nalick

    6 Apr 2006, 09:48 by KelownaGuy19

I love it when you end up buying an album, but for whatever reason, you just don't really listen to it. I mean, sure, you love whatever singles are out, but you never really seem to get much into the other material.

That was the case with me and Anna Nalick's 'Wreck Of The Day.'

I can't remember if I got it on the day it was released or not, but I was in love with Breathe (2AM), so I bought the CD. And then I didn't listen to it. I suck at my job!

So, several months back, I find out that Anna Nalick will be in down town with Rob Thomas, but I wasn't into the album, so I wasn't all that thrilled, and Rob's album, well, sucked.

But after hearing a few interviews with Anna in the weeks prior to the show, I knew it was my goal to meet her. If anything, just to see how she seemed in real life.

So I start listening to the album... a LOT. I actually don't think it's left the CD player in my car for the past 2 weeks. It's been non-stop Anna.

  • Favorites of 2005

    2 Jan 2006, 07:14 by Nikku

Okay, I've been wanting to do this for all week but I decided to wait till the last minute. This would be my favorites of 2005. The songs that stood out the most, got listened the most and will last me into the new year. Picking just a few from my over 400 song library is no easy task for me. But I shall try! Also, they are in no particular order except maybe from when I first heard them and then I doubt I will even stick to that.

    1. Work I heard this track the afternoon before the spring retreat in April. It was instant connection. I continued to listen to it on my ipod the whole bus-ride to the mountains. And it really meant something to me. That long for escape, for freedom, but not alone. That longing to do and say what my heart tells me must be done and said. To make it out of this maze with the one(s) I love. And it still holds that meaning for me. That and inspiration for a short story I am yet to write.

    2. Breakaway When I first heard this song, it was on tv. A commercial for the Princess Diaries 2. …
