Born in a little country town in Scotland called Melrose, Anna grew up in a close knit community, with a childhood full of fresh air and muddy knees! She studied music all through high school and then when her interest was not fulfilled, went on to study music at Edinburgh University, where she focused on piano and composition, as well as dabbling with sound recording which she really enjoyed. It was at this time that she began to write songs in her spare time, and perform them regularly around the city.
After a chance encounter with a record producer from New York named Brad Albetta one evening at the music venue she was working at, and sending him some of her work, she visited New York city to make a trial recording, in 2007. After further recording and discussion, they agreed on a development deal and she moved to New York in June 08 to begin working on a record with Brad.
Her musical style has often been described as "unique", heavily piano based and with detectable influences from artists such as Joni Mitchell, Regina Spektor, with stylistic qualities that echo some early jazz artists such as Nina Simone.
She has played some successful gigs in the city already, and is looking forward to playing more, as well as working on her new record with Brad.
She feels utterly grateful to be in the situation she is in, and is 100% committed to her music, and to sending it out to the world!
