Having hired a car for the weekend, my plan for the Sunday was to drive to my friends place in St Julien D'Armangnac (its a small town, don't worry) and then back onto the motorway and down to Toulouse for this show.
Its embarassing to say this, but it took me ages to get out of Bordeaux itself as I kept seeing signs for what I assumed to be the Bordeaux Rugby Stadium when it was in fact the ring road around Bordeaux. When this finally clicked I was on my way and tootling down the motorway. My friends delayed lunch and I did finally get there in time for something to eat and a quick chat before I had to hit the road again.
I picked up a map of Toulouse en route and saw that Ramon St Agne was at the other side of Toulouse, but when I got close I missed the turning and had to go to the next junction on the motorway (a further 15/20 miles) before turning around and coming back. I checked into my cubicle at the Formule 1 (possibly the most compact i. …

Well I originally intended to catch just the Paris show of Angra's current European tour with Firewind and Powerquest but the friends I was planning on visiting decided to go away for the weekend to their house in the
South-West. I decided to follow them and instead managed to catch two gigs rather than just the one - or rather three, as one of the reasons for going to Bordeaux was so that I could catch the short acoustic set which they performed at the FNAC in the centre of town. Before that I enjoyed an excellent lunch at a quiet restraunt - oh how I wish that places in the UK were as good and as cheap!
It seemed to take ages to get things setup at the FNAC store and a big crowd built up - which easilly filled the room once we were finally able to enter. Though the band were seating on stools, there was no way to take any dedcnt photos unless you were right at the front - which I wasn't. …

Well, after 6 years expecting Angra to come back and play in Chile, they finally did. And it was great.
The supporting band was Human Factor, a Chilean power metal band and I must admit they suck. Every song was exactly like the previous one, as many power/melodic metal bands. The male guitar player wants to by Yngwie Malmsteen and the only good thing about them is the female guitarist who isn't a top model, but at least she's a rocker woman.
About 45 minutes after Human Factor finished their show Angra came to scene. The opening song was Carry On and of course Edu Falaschi was awful. It's a crime putting him to sing André Matos' songs, for the suffering of himself aswell for the audience. But at least I can say that I sang so loud that I didn't have to listen to him :D
The sound quality was excellent, I could see every band member quite close, the crowd was awesome and the setlist was unbelievable. I never thought they'd play Wings of Reality :D
