About this album
‘From The Heart’ is the debut album from this extremely versatile artist from the NE, UK. Released on Andy’s own label in February 2012, this collection of eclectic compositions is over an hour in duration and reveals the wide range of musical influences and tastes that Andy has embraced and moulded together to create his own distinctive sound.
The music on this album is inspired by the strong emotions associated with Andy’s life experiences, which he refers to as his ‘personal scrapbook’.
All the instrumentation on the album is by Andy, although female vocalist Chrissy Armstrong features predominantly on two of the songs.
It is virtually impossible to pigeonhole this album into a genre because of it’s diversity, but it is unlikely to disappoint fans of Singer/Songwriters, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Electronica, Ambient, Celtic, Dance, Classical.
There are many features to enjoy here including some punchy brass arrangements, lush strings and orchestral sounds, pulsating rhythms, strong melodies, powerful rock guitar, expressive blues and slide guitar, strong vocal harmonies & lyrics.
