“To live a dream is a dream come true, for those who dont dream dont live”. This is Andy Duguid’s philosophy and his dreams are coming true. With the release of his debut single “Hypocrisy” and notable remixes to his name 2007 was the year Andy made the EDM world stand up and take notice.
Andy’s career started back in September 2006 when his production “Hypocrisy” fell into the hands of Tiësto. The following months seen “Hypocrisy” battered out in nightclubs worldwide from the likes of Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk and Armin van Buuren. It was also voted twice in Armin’s “A State of Trance” radio show. It was inevitable that the signing of “Hypocrisy” was just around the corner. Andy received offers from across the globe and eventually Black Hole Recordings sealed the deal. “Hypocrisy” was released september 3rd 2007 and reaching as high as no 5 in the Dutch dance charts.
It wasnt just “Hypocrisy” which made the EDM world take notice of Andy as his B-side “Dreamcatcher” was just as popular recieving plaudits from the worlds top DJ’s. Andy’s initial break into the industry was followed up by a track which has been classed as “one of the biggest tracks of 2007”: “Don’t Belong”. Since its initial release on Tiësto’s “In Search of Sunrise” series “Dont Belong” has gained support from DJ’s throughout every genre. In December 2007 and Januari 2008 “Don’t Belong” was the second most requested track on American BPM XMRadio. Its release date was January 2008.
