Andy Abraham inspired me to not only begin soul singing but he also told me that being a bin man is actually ok and to not be ashamed so all of my bin man friends and members of the bin man community have started a soul singing night in Dover and so far we have a total of 11 people attending!!!!!!!
Andy Abraham has one of the best male voices I've ever heard. His performance in stage is marvelous, and "Even If" was another song underrated in ESC 2008. I can truly say that he was the moral winner of ESC 2008.
RE the whole Eurovision thing: The only reason the UK never get any points is cause all the other countries vote for their neighbouring countries in order to remain civil. I'm so glad they're changing the rules for 2009. I admit I'm one who watches it for the hilarious costume and dramatics they always put on, but I do find it a bit depressing to see us at the bottom yet again just because we don't have any nearby countries.
shut the fuck up. Ukraine, Armenia, Greece, Albania, Norway and so on had excellent songs. The reason UK, Spain and so on sucks is because they do not have to qualify to the final. THus it is so easy and they don't put any effort in it.
I only listened to a handful of songs then switched channel. Eurovision is DEAD so far as I'm concerned. Even Sir Terry is obviously sick of it. He couldn't hardly even make any of his usual sarcastic comments this year, (probably gagged by his bosses). It's not Andy's fault btw.
Why should the UK have placed higher? There is no reason, the minute we start sending decent quality songs in is the moment we're allowed to complain when we're last. We hardly put much effort into things...
Fair enough to those of you who like it. But more people in the UK bought Snap's seventeen year old track 'Rhythm Is A Dancer' this week than bought our own Eurovision entry. It couldn't even make our own top 40 singles. Scooch went top ten. What does that tell anyone?
It's obvious their was no chance in the first place. The fact that the show has to be hosted in the english language pisses all the other european countries off... Also it's frankly politics and if you listened to Wogan in the end he said it pretty clearly 'Eurovision Song contest is no longer a music compition'. I think everyone in the UK has known this for some years now. Tonight pretty much made the point i have to say.
The song isn't that bad, but quite boring and unrecognisable. As usual in recent years, the UK won't have the slightest chance of winning. Sorry.
"Andy Abraham, a former binman who took part - without success - in the reality television show The X-Factor, is believed to be the UK's worst ever entrant.
William Hill said yesterday that, after starting at 20-1 to win the competition, Mr Abraham's odds have now drifted to 66-1, making him the longest-priced entrant the country has ever had."
I love his eurovision entry it sounds so BRAND NEW HEAVIES , great tune!!
But seriously... leaving apart the fact that his song is just not Eurovision enough, it's like a Sydney Youngblood B-side (and sounds as old), it really is a damning indictment of how we treat Eurovision when we send someone to represent the UK who is only really famous for having LOST a TV karaoke contest.
good good i wish lithuania win but we cant we our people voted worse song i ever heard escpecialy for eurovision ... may this man have luck there ! [srry for not fluently language i cant speak in english well :( ]
Who voted for this rubbish to go through to Eurovision?! The song is more dated than even the singer (which is saying something!). Its about time the BBC gave a different channel the chance to do 'song for Eurovision' - Maybe C4? Even Scooch were 100millionx better than this 'effort'. It will be 'nil points' and the singer will be collecting rubbish again in under year.
