  • Anathema w Poznaniu

    24 Apr 2012, 11:36 by Marooned_MB

    2012-04-22 – Anathema, Amplifier w Eskulapie

Support pominę i przejdę do gwoździa programu.

Nawet długość koncertu to potwierdziła - czasowo dostałem więcej niż przewidziałem. Z tej strony rewelacja.

Teraz dwa minusy, rzecz jasna czysto subiektywne, bo jak to mawiają, jeden woli fiołki, a drugi jak mu nogi śmierdzą.

    Minus klasyczny.

    9 Jan 2011, 17:19 by SOOziLA

ok i found this on a user's journal: b]induldgecountry and i found it so funny.. so i made something like that. here's the rule if u wanna make the same list:

Go to your music player, set it to shuffle/random, and answer the following questions with the title of the FIRST song that you skip to each time. No cheating!

If you reached the top of mount Everest, you would scream:
    Falling Behind
    Comment: Oh,WTF!!! I don't wanna die!

The next time you stand up in front of a group of people, you'll say:
    Someday
    Comment: Doesn't make any sense!

Your favorite thing to say when drunk is:
    Towards the End
    Comment: ahaaha...maybe!

    Your message to the world:
    Burn
Comment: Oh,comm onn...I'm not Hitler! So violent! lol!

When you think of your best friend you think:
    Don't Let Me Stop You
    Comment: That's true!keep goin'!

    Your deepest secret:
    Ashtray Heart
    Comment: WTF??!!

    Your innermost desire:
    Judgement
Comment: OMG!!! That's great...yeah,I do really want it!

    Right now, your feelings are:

    29 May 2010, 09:24 by Smog72

  • Anathema themed mix tape

    10 Sep 2009, 14:19 by fauxia

Since my wife and I going to see Anathema on Monday, I made her a mix tape, so she can familiarize herself with some of my favorite tracks from the best Pink Floyd-metal band.

    1. Deep
    2. Fragile Dreams *
    3. Panic
    4. Feel
    5. Balance
    6. Underworld
    7. Empty
    8. Pitiless
    9. Pressure
    10. Lost Control
    11. A Natural Disaster
    12. Release
    13. One Last Goodbye
    14. Regret
    15. Judgement
    16. Inner Silence *

Alternative 4, Judgement and A Fine Day to Exit are my favorite Anathema albums, as you can probably see. I don't have much love for their earlier stuff, except for Restless Oblivion. But she doesn't like growling, so it was left out for that reason only.

    * not the original, but the semiacoustic version from Hindsight.
  • Anathema back in Ireland

    2 Mar 2009, 21:58 by Neuronix

Fri 27 Feb – Anathema, Parhelia

When we arrived at the Button Factory just a few minutes before the doors were about to open, it wasn't that busy yet. The place looked pretty nice with some carpeted stairs at the back with some sofas on the side and a large enough floor in front of that. Apparently Thy Sinister Bloom had fallen off the line up for some reason, because the only opening act was Parhelia, an instrumental prog sort of band. They were OK, but not that memorable.

The opening duo of Deep and Closer was welcomed well by the crowd. When Vinnie then said he'd heard a rumour that there were more Polish people than Irish, a huge cheer erupted to confirm that! Far Away was up next, after which it was time for the new stuff. Lee joined the guys from the left side of the stage for Angels Walk Among Us and after the song walked off on the right side of the stage, which Vinnie didn't notice (more on that later). A Simple Mistake was the next new song. …
  • Anathema gig review

    10 Nov 2008, 13:43 by oneiris

Fri 7 Nov – Anathema, Demians

I'm so glad I went to this gig. It is, without a doubt, the best one I have been to in a few years. Anathema played beautifully and covered songs from pretty much all their eras while still managing to make the gig sound cohesive. There were some lovely surprises in the set list, and I left the gig feeling wonderfully buoyed and satisfied.

    Set list:
    Parisienne Moonlight (as the intro)
    Deep
    Closer
    Far Away
    Angels Walk Among Us
    A Simple Mistake
    Anyone, Anywhere
    Empty
    Judgement
    Panic
    Shroud of False
    Lost Control
    Hope
    Flying
    Are You There?
    One Last Goodbye
    Angelica
    Sleepless
    Hindsight
    Fragile Dreams

The entire gig was a highlight, but there were some particularly memorable parts. Hearing Hope and Angelica played live was brilliant, as was the acoustic version of Are You There?, which Danny did solo. In fact, while the original version of that track was good, I think I appreciate it so much more since hearing the acoustic version. …
Anathema (17.10.08, Berlin)

    26 Oct 2008, 18:38 by bloodlite

Anathema, Demians

  • Anathema - magiczna klątwa w Krakowie ;)

    22 Oct 2008, 12:45 by Auronike

Zagrali utwory Sapphire, The Perfect Symmetry, Sand , Naive i jakiś z nowej płyty, którego tytułu nie pamiętam. Bardzo ciekawy pomysł z wykorzystaniem motywu Another Break In The Wall w A Dying Wish, natomiast magiczne One Last Goodbye wolałabym usłyszeć w normalnej wersji…
  • Escape From The Bungalow, Day 6

    14 Oct 2008, 11:35 by Neuronix

Mon 13 Oct – Anathema, Demians

Day 6 of the tour and time to cross the border! I'd never been to Bochum before, but the navigation system did a sterling job of delivering me on the doorstep of the Matrix. The club is located in the basement of a 200 year old brewery. The hall itself is very long and pretty narrow with a round brick roof.

Demians really are getting more solid every show and for the first time since Utrecht dared to play the epic 16 minute Sand, which Nicolas said was still quite difficult for him to sing. The crowd reaction was overwhelming. The band received the longest applause I've ever heard for a support act. Temperatures meanwhile had become very high.

Then Anathema started playing. Same setlist, different experience. The clapping was louder, the singing along was louder. There were quite a few technical problems in the beginning with Danny's microphone malfunctioning (again, happened in Den Bosch as well if I recall correctly) during Deep and the bass initially being pretty prominent in the mix…
  • Escape From The Bungalow, Day 4

    12 Oct 2008, 08:36 by Neuronix

Sat 11 Oct – Anathema, Demians

Day 4 of the tour and the final show in Holland. Despite having worked in Zoetermeer for several years, I'd never been to the Boerderij. It's a pretty nice venue with a relatively low stage and a wide setup so a lot of people can be at the front.

Demians' shows are getting better every day. Having seen them 3 times now, it's obvious that the trio are gaining confidence and are playing better and better. Awkward moment came at the end of Temple, where nobody quite realised it was the end of the song and not a break and the applause came after a few seconds of silence. I felt really quite silly, having seen them perform the song 2 times before!

The atmosphere was fantastic and when Anathema started with Deep the roof pretty much came off and stayed off for the duration of the set. The first half of the set saw no changes from Utrecht and Den Bosch. Closer and Far Away followed, after which it was time for some new material with Angels Walk Among Us and A Simple Mistake. …
