Biography

There are three artists with the name Anastasia: a band from Macedonia, the Republic of, an electronic music band, and a Swedish folk punk band.

1. Anastasia is a music band from Macedonia, the Republic of, formed in 1990.
Their music is a blend combining Byzantine past, through Eastern Orthodox Church music with a rich gamut of ethnic rhythms. Anastasia have made numerous music scores for films, theater performances and TV programs. Their soundtrack for the movie Before the Rain bearing Polygram label has been sold in thousands of copies worldwide.

2. Anastasia is also a electronic music band composed of Oliver Laib, Martin Eyerer & Walter G. Ercolino. Best known of their remix of HIM’s track ‘Join Me’.

3. Anastasia was a semi acoustic folk punk band from Malmö, Sweden, lead by singer/guitarist Lasse Qvint, with Dekel Carlström (drums), Loffa Persson (bass), Daniel Bexell (accordion, guitar, mandolin, piano), and Anette Mårtensson (violin). The band was active during the 1990s and released, among other things, the album “Kickar & Kaos”. Anastasia’s music is a sort of mix between punk, sped-up singer/songwriter tunes, and Swedish folk music, a mix that was very popular in Sweden for a brief period in the 90s, with bands like Traste Lindéns Kvintett, Perssons Pack, and Bombyces Bryggeri.

Note: Anastasia is often mixed up to the female pop-singer Anastacia.

    i cant believe it, pocahontas and aladdin are similar artists. first of all, they are not even artists, from when a soundtrack for crappy Disney (or Disney wanna-be, and who the hell cares?) cartoon is named after the main character or the title of the movie. aren't any artists/composers who are standing behind the project?

    Actually, if you check their album covers right up there you will see that they were always signed as ANASTASIA, not АНАСТАСИJА.
