Amos Lee ranks up as my all time favorite modern folk singer. In truth, he ranks up as one of my favorite artists period, genre notwithstanding. However, I found this song one of his weaker efforts on this new album. I saw him in concert when he came to St. Petersberg and even the live version didn't convince me that this was any more than a weak protest song. Doesn't change my opinion of the man, though.

Why is it that the live version is so much better than the record's version? Not even just in a matter of taste and opinion. It's like they're two totally different songs.
