Ampersand (5:59)
From Who Killed Amanda Palmer (Alternate Tracks) and 6 other releases
An ampersand is used to join two things together as one unit, such as a romantic couple. In an interview with Songfacts, Palmer explained: “The seed of ‘Ampersand’ was just the image of the ampersand as a symbol that happens to people when they cease being Mary, and they’re always John & Mary. They turn into this really irritating relationship people who’ll only ever say ‘we,’ even in terms of, ‘Yeah, we really like the movie, but we weren’t really sure about…’ And those people drive me so f—king crazy.” (Source Ampersand Songfacts).

Amanda Palmer – Ampersand
I walk down my street at night
The city lights are cold and violent
I am comforted by the
Approaching sound of trucks and sirens
