Vik Shagal is the mind behind the Israeli project Alter Breed. His musical roots go deep down to the early 90’s when he started to absorb influences from different electronic music genres and made his first steps towards music production. After some years of producing and performing different styles of music, the Alter Breed project has been officially launched in 2007,this time focusing mainly on a new wave of Progressive House and Techno sounds. Originally a two person project – with Alex Krupenko on the board - split in 2009 and left Vik producing and performing solo.

The first breakthrough under this moniker was “Back in Black” release on the German label Blue Tunes in 2008, which gained a lot of attention to the new project from the side of the world’s major electronic labels. Many of the following releases received a massive support from some of the best DJs & producers on the scene – among others Armin Van Buuren, Tall Paul, Mark Brow, Jerome Isma-Ae, Noel Sanger, Eelke Kleijn, James Harcourt, Peter Horrevorts or Solead. Along with that came success in the digital download shops – remixes for SQL (Tribal Vision) or Lish (Echoes) both reached top 20 positions in Beatport sales charts and the highly acclaimed Shadow EP released on James Harcourt’s imprint Twisted Frequency also got into both progressive house and techno top 10s at DJ Download.Vik is currently preparing material for his debut album and touring the planet with the groundbreaking live performance. With no doubt a name that has to be watched!
