Yay, physical abuse? Seriously, Allison? Even if she says this song isn't about an abusive relationship, what the heck is the listener supposed to think? I've heard other songs about the mentality of someone being abused with similar lyrics (such as When You Hurt Me the Most by Stream of Passion), but the melody and the way they sing it conveys how twisted and destructive abuse is. This makes it seem like one big party. I love Allison lots, but this song was a pretty bad idea of her label's part.

Wow, pretty twisted. Its accurate if you look at the psychology of people in abusive relationships & how little they leave their partners. But just because it has some truth doesn't mean you should sing about it in a positive light!

Whether it's an intentional meaning or not, these lyrics reeeaaally make me wince coming from a 17 year old girl, listened to by other young girls.

Hmm, maybe not the best lyrical choice for an album aimed at tween girls, eh? Yup, her advisors dropped the ball on this one. I’m not of the PC ilk, but I can see how this might hinder some acceptance.

the "baby one more time" comparison isn't really apt. the word BEAT here is so prominent, it's difficult to remove it from the physical act. And insinuating that she likes it and keeps coming back for me? It's like she's narrating an all-too-common case of domestic violence. If the song was "steal your car", would you not say that she's condoning auto theft? There's a really fine line in popular songwriting and when it comes to talking about domestic abuse, it becomes really easy to cross it. I'm the kind of person that doesn't get offended easily, but even listening to this, it's a bit too much. I think it's really in bad taste, esp. considering how young she is. And it's a shame becuase this is such a great debut album and a very catchy song.

This so is so amazing. It is my favorite off the album. :) And you are dumb if you think this song is about physically beating someone up. USE YOUR BRAIN :)

LOL @ Everyone that still thinks this song is about someone physically beating some one. It's no different than the lyric 'Hit Me Baby One More Time'.

If you watched Allison's interview on EW.com, she said this song wasn't about physically beating someone. I can't ever see Allison singing a song about that.
