1) a Los Angeles punk band:

“Milo went to college, and ALL was born. Rather than quietly lay down their tools and fade into legend, Bill Stevenson, Stephen Egerton and Karl Alvarez formed an offshoot band from the Descendents in 1987. ALL formed in suburban Los Angeles.

ALL first saw singer Dave Smalley in some of the earlier albums such as ‘Allroy Sez’ and ‘Allroy For Prez’. Smalley later gave way to singer Scott Reynolds who appeared on the albums ‘Allroy’s Revenge’, ‘Trailblazer’, ‘Allroy Saves’, and ‘Percolator’. The ‘New Girl, Old Story’ album in 1991 saw All credited as TonyALL and featured their old Descendents bandmate Tony Lombardo on vocals.

Once Scott moved on, current singer Chad Price stepped in. Price has spent some time in the studio with ALL as well on such albums as ‘Breaking Things’, ‘Pummel’, ‘Mass Nerder’, ‘Problematic’, and the live album ‘Live Plus One’.

Although ALL is mostly made up of members of the Descendents, and most of the songs are written by the same people in both bands, few can deny that ALL has its own distinct sound while still letting the Descendents bleed through.”

2) An alias for German techno producer Wolfgang Voigt (Mike Ink, Gas) All is experimental ambient and can be described as a concept between M:I:5 and Gas

the lyrics are pretty silly (and pointless) and the music is no great shakes. otherwise a great album. as far as the chad vs scott debate goes, i think chad pretty much unquestionably has the better voice of the two, but in terms of the quality of song-writing and material of the period and the overall vocalist/band fit, scott wins by a mile. i love scott ALL (especially revenge) more than almost everything, including the descendents.

This doesn't have a lot to do with the argument, but i was pretty shocked when i read the lyrics to Hetero, and i can't believe anyone in the band actually agreed to play that song when the lyrics were presented to them. I've only been listening to ALL for less than a year, and i'm trying to go chronologically, so i've only heard their first three releases. (plus Breaking Things) Who wrote the lyrics to Hetero anyway? It's a good example of misplaced hatred. He's finding a scapegoat (gays) to blame instead of himself, for all his girl problems.Of what i have heard, i'd say that my favorite ALL singer is Scott Reynolds, followed by Dave Smalley, and Chad Price.

I'm not thinking cred at all. You mentioned soul, for me, Blag has tons of it in his singing. His intonations are awesome. Price is a good singer, but I don't think he's ALL's best , or even near the top. But then again, that's why they're opinions. And I expressed mine. Cred ain't shit... I hate punk rock mentality. and as for Hetero... that song is horrible. Lyrics are as bad as any of the Descendents' songs about farts and shit. Talking about "offending the sensibilities of morons" hah. I'm gladly a moron if it means I get to dislike Hetero, Cape Canaveral (or whatever), She Broke My Dick, and the other lame songs. Bleh.
