Aline Frazão was born in 1988 in Luanda (Angola) and currently lives in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia. Her first public performance took place when she was only 9 years-old and she has had the opportunity to sing different styles such as fado, MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), jazz and traditional music from Angola and Cape Verde ever since. She started to write her first songs when she was 15 years-old, playing guitar influenced by Brazilian music, particularly bossanova.

Aline continued her university studies in Lisbon between 2006 and 2009 while also collaborating in different theatre and music projects. She moved to Barcelona where the “A minha embala” project was born; an album was released two years later (June 2011).

But it was in Madrid, a city where Aline lived for almost two years, where she started to perform solo in bars and concert venues, covering classic Brazilian, Angolan and Cape Verdian tunes as well as writing her first songs. By performing in several cities such as Paris, Dublin, Lisbon, Luanda, Brussels, London and Buenos Aires, she managed to bring together her two passions-travelling and music.

After her involvement in the 2010 edition of the Galician festival of Portuguese-speaking cultures, Cantos na Maré, Aline Frazão moved to Santiago de Compostela to fully develop her musical career. It was here where she formed her current band, which includes two other members: Jose Manuel Díaz, a double bass player from Cuba and the Galician percussionist Carlos Freire.
