Alexander East is among the ever growing list of talent that continues to take the electronic community by storm here in the U.S. and abroad internationally. Born in Brooklyn, New York Alexander knew he had a purpose beyond description when it came to his ever growing “hobby” of music. When he was young he taught himself how to play many different musical instruments and sing. While growing up, his family had moved to quite a number of places in the Midwest, including Ohio and Minneapolis where he currently resides. It was during these early years in the between places where he gained the opportunity to spend a significant time around many different recording studios, where he learned how to produce and engineer his own works for future release. Although he was initially all about producing hip hop, it was during the early 1990’s where house music other forms of electronic began pulling him into the realm that he is known from today. In 1994, he began djing and working within the underground community, producing his own tracks on the side to start. By 1997, Alexander’s first track “Gold Dust Goodies v1” was released in a limited capacity through his very own label Planet East Recordings.
