Alex Day is unsigned musician, YouTuber, and writer.

YouTube and Hiatus
Prior to March 2014, Alex Day was the biggest UK solo artist on YouTube with an audience of over a million people. However, in March 2014, accusations of Day’s participation in “manipulative relationships,” likely with minors, arose. This accusations were confirmed by Day, leading to widespread outcry by his audience and much of the YouTube community. Day’s merchandise was removed from, his upcoming publication of his first book (The Underground Storyteller) was canceled, and no posts have been made on his social media sites of YouTube, Facebook, Tumblr, or Twitter since.

Musical Success
Day’s first two albums, Parrot Stories (2009) and The World Is Mine (I Don’t Know Anything) (2010) received marginal success, although mostly contained in Day’s YouTube audience.

His 2011 winter single “Forever Yours” sold a hundred thousand copies worldwide in one week without any record label support or major radio airplay, landing on the UK Official Chart at #4 on Christmas Day. “Forever Yours” sales beat out singles by artists such as Coldplay, Rihanna, and Katy Perry.

Day’s follow-up single “Lady Godiva” in April 2012 was released amidst sold-out signing appearances in stores around the country (over a thousand at HMV’s Edinburgh store alone). The song made the UK Top 20 and charted in fifteen other countries including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, America, Sweden, Norway, Spain and reached number 1 in Slovenia.

In May 2012, Day released three more singles; “Good Morning Sunshine”, “She Walks Right Through Me”, and “This Kiss” on a single day, selling nearly 150,000 copies. Along with “Forever Yours,” “Lady Godiva,” and several other tracks, Day’s third album Epigrams and Interludes was released in March 2013.

Day has also released songs with the bands Chameleon Circuit and Sons of Admirals.
