About this album
Release date is false here on Last FM. This came out in 1995. Alec Empire invented breakcore with his EPs in the years 1992 - 1995. This album is a compilation of various tracks from that era. Beastie Boys Label Grand Royal released single “The Peak” in 1996 in the US.
Empire quit this style in 2000. Albums like “Squeeze The Trigger” , “Alec Empire vs. Elvis Presley” and “Miss Black America” are following a similar sound approach.
Also important to mention are his series on DHR Limited. “Death Funk” and “No Safety Pin Sex”.
These breakbeats have more in common with Slayer and Throbbing Gristle than with Drum’n’Bass or Warp Records.
