'This album is like hearing God speak directly into your heart.' Exactly. I remember when this album first came out... It blew my teenage mind. It's dark, spiritual, wise, haunting. Alanis' lyrics are always amazing but on this album in particular she uses such a brilliant, stream-of-consciousness-type way of writing that it's just profound. I suppose this is mostly due to all of the traveling/soul searching she apparently did after JLP. She touches on deep and powerful issues on this record and I can appreciate it even so much more in my late 20s. I still look to the lyrics for answers to questions about myself or my own life because her observations on identity (and herself) are so astute, moving, fascinating. Also, the world-beat vibe of the music, her gorgeous vocals/melodies.. I could gush about this album forever but it's a masterpiece IMHO, top 10 ever for me. Has moved me to tears many times and made me think so much about the world, people and myself <3

The way I understand the album title, it basically means "Infatuation Junkie". Frankly I think that would have been a better title.

WOW! I've never given this album a chance, since I was obsessed with Under Rug Swept, but this is so amazing. Definitely one of the best albums I know.

To me it's definitely her best album, you can really feel the great effort she put into it but the result is incredibile, all the songs are so deep and mature and in its wholeness it's very cohesive and pleasurable to listen to. It's simply a masterpiece and none of her other album reaches such a high level!
