A Welsh composer based in Hong Kong, Alan has been producing music since 1981. In addition to his own works he also collaborates regularly with choreographer John Utans to create new contemporary dance works for different companies in Asia and the U.S.

    Modern composers are often ignored simply for their innovation and the breaking of rules. It was Douglas Bader who is alleged to have said that "Rules are made to be broken" and the piece Night Falls Fast gives us all an insight into the magnificence that a creation can give to a listener. In my mind it really ought to be choreographed for ballet, possibly Wayne Sleep and his group of superb dancers to interpret the piece into something more than just a stunning piece of music.
