Alado Sincera is a band from Barcelona which has received unanimous critical praise for their first two releases, ‘Ven’ (Junk 2005) and ‘Cuidado Contigo’ (Junk 2007) but they have been definetely recognised for their third album ‘Palimpsesto’ (Repetidor 2009).

‘Palimpsesto’ has been produced by Frank Rudow and recorded with Paco Loco and it is a departure from the intimist poetry that characterized the two previous pop releases.

This change of course veers towards sharp, dissonant new forms. Their present work contains a political response (or else, anti-political response) that is both contemporary and abstract. The album is a robust piece of work that is built around volume and is far away from previous melodic efforts.

The album is homogeneous in such a way that there’s still contrast between the songs. This is accounted for by the fact that the band’s musical palette includes influences such as Sonic Youth, Apostle Of Hustle, Constantines, Fugazi, Guided By Voices, The New Year, Shipping News and Yo La Tengo.

The new album emanates a flair of inspiration and immediacy that is daring in every respect -it only adds to the their achievement. The risk taken responds to a wish to rewrite, a need to achieve self-improvement and reach in different directions until coming upon a definitive restatement, a new proposal that is highly idiosyncratic.

Alado Sincera are a rare species in the Spanish indie scene. Each new release is a truly exciting event, and their live performance an unforgettable experience.
