The first one is my favorite, both the game and the music. I just like the whole feel of it best, it has something genuinely disturbing about it that I don't think any of the sequels quite match.

Another masterpiece of Yamaoka. Totally different from his later work, this is the most atmospheric and creepy work by Akira Yamaoka. It's an album you have to listen to from beginning to end, because the way the tracklisting was set up is epic, there's nothing scarier than you're calm with some music and, suddenly, comes a creepy industrial beat, making you have a heart attack.

This, Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 soundtracks mean so much to me. They're a big part of how I experience life.

Best thing from this list of the OST is the 29th track, "Never Again 2", simply MISSING... Every single time I play the whole CD, the track gets corrected to "Never Again". Apart from that, this is one of the most original soundtracks EVER, simply half of the atmosphere from the game was created by the master Akira. [+1] to the cheesy sequels, too
