    Antichrist
    Rating: 3.75/5

Akercocke's Antichrist was one of my most anticipated releases of 2007 as Choronzon and Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone are two of my all-time favourite albums. They had already signaled their intent to move into more progressive territory with the last release, so I was expecting some great material in the vein of "Shelter From The Sands", but my feeling is they went just that little bit too far here, and lost some of the edge that made Words… such a great album.

Antichrist kicks off with a bunch of twisted sound effects and demonic ranting in what I'd guess is Latin (or maybe just backwards English), and while it does its job of establishing mood I'm glad it only goes for a minute. "Summon the Antichrist" sees the metal kick in, and damned if that kick in isn't right in your face! Blasting and shredding are the order of the day here, and accompanied by Jason Mendonça's gutturals there is no doubt Akercocke is here to slay!…

    Well. Yes.

I arrived in London at about 1pm then my dad drived around for a few hours before he found where the hell we were going. Correction! I grabbed the map and told him where to go. (Stupid man)

I went to the venue and met some nice people *waves to panzerwrath* then it started raining so I looked in my bag and realised my hoodie wasn't there so I went to the car quickly thinking my parents were leaving in a minute but heh a long walk to the car to find they aren't there. So then I walked to mcdonalds and found them still there.Grabbed car keys, went to get hoodie, returned keys then back to venue!
    (interesting no?)

    Getting in was fun.
Had alot of fun outside with my new evil Minge acomplices!

Ted Maul were better than expected. Mainly because Ritz on the keyboards and some rather cool vocals was quite funny. But in a cool way. He must be possesed.

Akercocke were fucking amazing. Ok more than that.
