Biography

Air Liquide is a German electronic band composed of musicians Ingmar Koch (AKA “Dr Walker”) and Cem Oral (AKA “Jammin’ Unit”), formed in 1991 in Cologne, Germany. They are known for their heady mixture of dub, electro beats, intricate acid techno and austere sonic sensibilities.

They released several works via their own label Blue and acclaimed English techno label Rising High Records. EMI brought the defunct Harvest imprint back online to house their experiments.

They also release under the names: Madonna 303, Electronic Dub, Jammin Unit and Dr. Walker. They are lovers of old analogue equipment as evidenced on their first LP’s list of gear.

Dr. Walker: fair enough. You're still one of my favourite techno acts ever, so maybe that comment was a tad too negative.

When and why did Air Liquide go from freaky experimental UFO acid to more nonsdescript electro/dance like Anybody Home? Their early 90s stuff was so good.
