Style: Minimalique & Electronique

Between Istanbul (Turkey) and Essen (Germany), Ahmet Sisman moves through different worlds. Influenced by the mystique music of the Sufi-Culture, his sound has always something dark and powerful with light and tribe culturism. Combining traditional elements in a unique and post-modern way; Ahmet has created his own style.

The “multiculti” guy made his debut on the French/Belgian Label Lessizmore beginning 2008 and shortly after the Stock5 Release in June 2008 he got the attention of the big names in the scene.

With his third release in ‘08, Sisman scored a breakthrough with ‘Buiya’ which became a mainstay in Sven Väth’s DJ sets at Cocoon in Ibiza throughout the whole summer - Väth ended up licensing it for his ‘Sound of the Ninth Season’ mix compilation.

As Terry Church, former news and online editor for Britain’s DJ Magazine says:

Like the music of fellow Istanbul producer Onur Ozer, Sisman’s music speaks much of interconnectivity, the clash between modernity and tradition, and the bridge between East and West.

And like Onur Ozer and many other producers from parts of the world not known for their contribution to electronic music, technology has given Ahmet Sisman the opportunity to carry the musical legacy of his country forwards in a post-modern way that can be felt by all who to it.
