Berlin, Germany (2002 – present)

Agonoize artist is an aggrotech band formed in Berlin, Germany in 2002. It is seldom that a newcomer splits the electro scene in two with their first release in such a way as Mike J., Olli S., and Chris L. did with their MCD Paranoid Destruction.
With their musical roots in bands like Klinik or Suicide Commando this release got lots of admiration as well as criticism but all agreed on one thing: “Voll auf die Fresse, voll auf den Dancefloor.” Full in the face, full on the dance floor! This album Paranoid Destruction entered the DAC (Deutsche Alternative Charts) at Number 7, and AGONOIZE remained in the charts for 8 weeks.

Their second release Open the Gate / To Paradise entered the DAC top 10.
The album, which saw the light of day in October 2004, eradicated all comparisons to other bands and shows what enormous potential is simmering in AGONOIZE.
Club hits alternate with atmospheric songs without the album being boring. Of course this will also raise some questions, but those who saw AGONOIZE live are convinced that they put on a unique show. The live performances with their captive and sometimes brutal scenes show the deepest abyss of mankind and hold the audience spellbound.

Established at the end of 2002 by Mike Johnson and Olli Senger, it soon became apparent that to have a real good presence on stage they needed a good front man. This person was found in the form of front man Chris L. Now nothing stood in the way of AGONOIZE building up the group.

Amazing sound. I agree with the 'biographer': this band, definitely, had a huge impact on the Aggrotech scene. My personal favorite (among many, many favorites) has to be ManMadeGod.

The Track Hate (Early Studio Demo) is the shit! Its on the new Best Of - Reborn In Darkness CD4. Reminds me of Alien Vampires a bit, first two albums of them. Best Of is pretty good anyway + a lot of unreleased and rare tracks. Untitled is also great and the Psi.Corps track. Psi.Corps is Chris L btw.

For me Numinos with it's somewhat more complex and varying sound layers is one of their best tracks so far. The rest of Apokalypse ranges with few exceptions from same to tame. I have to agree with Lextasys that overall mastering quality could be better.

Dafür, Anti-Christ, Numinos (In The Name Of God) and Death By Stereo are actually smashing hits

@ Lextasys, its rare for a band to stay exactly the same throughout their careers. small changes aren't always bad, they can add some variety and make things less boring. at first I was slightly disappointed with the newest album, but it didn't last long.. now I love it like all the others. cheers.

I was really looking forward to this album. I've been a big fan of Agonoize for many years. But this album may be the one that prevents me from buying their music in the future. It just seems they didn't really try very hard with this album. It all sounds forced. All the songs sound the same. The sound quality is poor or rather it sounds like they didn't put much effort into mastering the sound. I just don't hear or feel that venomous spiteful amazing rage that I'm so used to hearing in Agonoize's lyrics. Nothing on here really got my heart racing like their previous releases did.

@xXPostal-DudeXx: good to see that you know what EBM is *sarcasm*. Anyway, I'm not pleased with the industrial scene for a couple of years now, but Agonoize seems to be one of the very few bands that still are enjoyable for me... dunno why, actually.

Well, doesnt get me. New album is also not that great. It's Nothing against Suicide Commando, Wumpscut, X-Fusion or Heimataerde. But is it even Dark Electro? The first album is a lot Dark Electro. The albums after this is mostly EBM with some Dark Electro. But wait thats called Aggrotech then. Haha I love those different sorts of the Electro Industrial Genre.

@xxpostal most addictive dark electro to me. very catchy melodies, great vocal style, beastly drums, lots of distortion. yup yup.
