Biography

Kirkby Lonsdale England (2009 – present)

Originally created in 2009 when a 17 year old boy worked out he could use a rock band 2 microphone to record sounds on audacity “Agnostic Asylum” originated as a 1 man band. His name being Oliver Goss from Kirkby Lonsdale England.

Oliver Goss was musically raised in a performing arts school where during compositions at the age of 15 he was forbidden from using “semi quavers” as he would deliberately make quick and pointless melodies. He was going to move on to semi-demi quavers but merely decided that would be pushing the cake too far.

Still studying music at A-Level he now respects many classical influences (in particular expressionism) but still notices how many people are unaware of the huge variations and quantities of music there truly are; especially when at the the age of 17 you are allowed to be musically shallow without anything more than a jolly slap on the wrist.

The influences of Agnostic Asylum are varied. Although it is mainly based in the roots of avant-garde and noise music Oliver has lived through waves upon waves of mainstream influences such as prog, mathcore and even emo pop. Leading to much ambivalence when writing music as most of the time writing music within melodic genres requires the talent which he clearly lacks.

The first album is entirely free and downloadable. For one Oliver does not feel that people would pay for such crap and secondly it costs him next to nothing to make. Besides his precious time.

I've read through that forum and I think I see where I made the mistake. However, I can't do anything about it now because the masters and original mp3 for that song are on computer located somewhere else so it'll have to wait for a little bit.

headey, the poor streaming is due to the songs being uploaded in VBR encoding, which Last.fm doesn't support. I tried to explain it to Oliver a while back, not sure if I made any sense though!

I know it seems like forever since I've added onto Enantiodromia, but if all goes okay I should have at least one track added before Christmas. Unfortunately I have a lot on my plate as of now.

Chavs. I have nothing against japanese people at all, or Chavs for that matter but the general opinion on Chavs is rather low.

I've included some of your music in a mix I've put together over at 8tracks.com If you object I can remove your tracks from the mix. The idea of it is to get more people listening to experimental music and sound art. If the listener has their 8tracks account connected to their last.fm account it will scrobble. If you'd like to listen to the mix it's here: http://art-moving-on.blogspot.com/2010/03/21st-century-experimental-musicians-and.html

Perhaps we should make a group for 100 to 199 listeners? You know, for those who have put stuff up, but still are relatively under-heard and obscure... :)

If I get 8 more listener's the "under 100 listeners" group will kick me out of their exclusive group. Are you all that cruel!!!?

Witchcaching. It updates irregularly, so those 3 extra listeners would've accumulated over the few days prior.
