“If you can imagine it, you can create it. If you can dream it, you can become it.” Fueled by thoughts of inspiration and the loving support of nearly everyone around them, After The Impact manifested from nothing more than a simple idea.

Abandoning the safety of previous bands, After The Impact officially formed in late September of 2009. Writing through the winter, the group was ready to record by mid-January 2010. Having no traditional education in audio recording, After The Impact engineered, produced, and mixed their debut EP without any professional consultation.

“We needed to be in a situation where we could afford to make mistakes in the studio, and be able to learn from them. Without having to worry about a huge bill waiting for us when we were done. So we decided to build our own studio and do it on our own. (John Whittaker)”

With all the band members working full time jobs, it took a total of 3 months to record start to finish. The final mixed product was sent to the SoundLab in Seattle for post-production mastering.

Dedicated to furthering the local music scene of the Treasure Valley, After The Impact is bound to make a mark that sticks. “Their new self titled EP is filled with incredibly catchy guitar riffs, super fast and powerful drum fills, booming bass lines, and heartfelt vocals that are bound to get you singing along!” Their new EP consists of 5 tracks - offering songs like “The Light To Lead” and “Backside of a Shut Door,” After The Impact is definitely a band you should keep a close eye on!

“We don’t make a dime doing this (haha.) But it’s not about that. We want to play music, and be able to make recordings at a competitive level without having to pour money out of pocket into a bleeding cause. Every dollar we make doing this gets put right back into getting us more exposure. (Dan Whittaker)”

Starting as nothing more than a simple $200 investment and a creative idea, it is safe to say that After The Impact is absolutely heading in the right direction.
