Biography

Adaro was a German medieval folk rock band active from 1997 to 2006.

Their first CD, Stella Splendens, was based mainly on Spanish songs from the 13th and 14th century. The later works incorporated late medieval songs from the Minnesang tradition by artists such as Hans Sachs, Walther von der Vogelweide and Oswald von Wolkenstein.

    als ich durch zufall diese band gefunden habe und mir die ersten drei lieder dieser top-liste anhörte war ich, um ehrlich zu sein, entsetzt. das ist nun wirklich nicht das, was ich unter medieval verstehe. mal davon abgesehen gefällt mir mein erster eindruck von adaro ganz gut. adaro klingt nicht wie alle anderen mittelalter-rock bands.
