Biography

Action Beat are an improv noise/no-wave band which is often made up of musicians who are available to play the gig on any particular date. They sound quite like early Sonic Youth, Glenn Branca, Rhys Chatham and the Boredoms. They normally have at least 4 guitarists, a bassist, a baritone and between 1 and 4 drummers and have also played with brass and string instruments in the line-up.

They have a die-hard gigging ethic, playing over 90 shows across Europe in 2009. They have an American tour lined up for 2009 from the beginning of September until November.

They have played show’s with bands including; Do Make Say Think (Constellation), Awesome Color (Ecstatic Peace), Tall Firs (Ecstatic Peace), Theusaisamonster (Load), OvO (Load),Destructo Swarmbots, Justice Yeldham, Neptune, Parts & Labor, Charlottefield, Fuck Buttons, Bilge Pump, Oxes, That Fucking Tank, Kling Klang and Trencher.

They have recently signed with Southern Records, on their new Truth Cult imprint. Their debut will be available this November.
