Absinthe became the world’s most maligned beverage by 1916 with a world-wide ban after an infestation took out France’s wine industry. The wine industry attacked the drink, making claims based on junk science that the drink caused blindness and even insanity. It was the drink of the children of the revolution: musicians, artists, and painters. With the ban lifted across the world by 2007, the revolution was revived and a band with a vision of redefining the way the world listened to rock was born.
ABSINTHE JUNK is an eclectic combination of musical styles ranging from progressive to alternative metal and goth rock, bringing a fusion of world flair to each and every tune. Their innovative songwriting finds critics drawing comparisons from Evanescence and Garbage to Apocalyptica and Tantric. Each song sports unique instrumentation ranging from violin to turkish saz all the way to the fully orchestrated symphony. A crafted assault of metaphorical undertones saturate the moment, leaving each tune as complex and unique as the instrumentation before it.
