Music played an important role in Aaron’s upbringing. He was born of Dominican/African American heritage into a household where no one else played an instrument. Aaron’s talent began to shine at an early age, and by the time he was fifteen, he was playing professionally, performing with a wide range of local bands and also writing his own songs.

“Music was something that came natural for me. It was what I enjoyed and loved so much. I learned how to play other instruments all through High school and even started arranging parts for the Marching Band.”

With a wide range of musical influences that included Grover Washington, Jr., David Sanborn and Walter Afanasieff, Aaron never stopped challenging himself. Even though he never really studied jazz, he was soon garnering rave reviews for his soulful sound.

“I studied everyone,” explained Aaron. Kenny G, Najee, Gerald Albright, as much jazz as I could find.” In the process, he discovered his own innate soulfulness. Through it all Aaron kept writing. “I wrote my first song in the 10th grade. It was during that time I realized music was something that I wanted to do as career. By the time I graduated High School I had written and produced an entire album. I released it locally to get as much exposure as I could. I just kept producing demos with the aim of getting a record deal.”
