Aakriti started leaning Hindustani Classical music at the tender age of 5, from her mother, who is a post graduate in Hindustani Classical music and later from her Guru Late Shri Byomkesh Bannerjee. She did her schooling from Springdales School, New Delhi with 87% in 12th grade. She gave her first stage performance at the age of 5 years and from there became a part of “Little Wonders” of Kalian Jig An and Jig troupe later called “Little Stars” in An and Jig’s troupe, where she made her way through 2 world tours and about 50 shows.

Winner of 1999 TVS Sa Re Ga Ma National Talent Hunt (Junior / Children’s Special) on Zee tv. She was also crowned as a Winner of various national level talent competitions like BPL Music Mania on Jain T.V., Sangam Kala Group and many more, the list is never ending.

Initially beginning with albums like Ek Sapna, Punjabi Pop Dhamaka 2000 , she sung for Baby Doll Chapter 2, where her song “Rangeela Re” became a chart topping remix from Sa Re Ga Ma, HMV. Eighteen Years old Akriti released her debut solo remix album called A.TEEN (A for Akriti ; TEEN for teenager), featuring the hit track “Jal Bin Machli” & also featured in the video directed by “Colosus”. The Video depicts a bunch of teenager kids having a blast on their own.

The album in cludes tracks like Jal Bin Machhli, Dum Maro Dum, Boom Boom, Ho Jata Hai Kaise Pyar, Tum Mile Dil Khile, Aao Na Gale Lag Jao Na, Come Closer, Lara Lappa Lara Lappa, ChoriChori Solah Singar, Sheesha Sharab Shabnam. Next up her sleeve was an international project with Matter & Sa Re Ga Ma HMV; a movie called “Barbie & the Magic of Pegasus” for which she sung and featured in the video track called “Hope has wings.” This was the first time an association like this happened in India which brought in big success to the project.

Another feather in her cap was the extension of her ability as a performer where she begun Veejaying along side singing for India’s No. 1 music channel “ETC”. She hosted shows and couple of film premieres as well. On stage performances and collaborations included gigs with the likes of Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Sivamani, Jasbir Jassi, KK, Anand Raaj Anand & latest Bollywood sensation Himesh Reshammiya. She did about 200 corporate shows over the last two yeans with the corponate houses like Maruti Udyog, Hero Honda, Yamaha, Samsung, Seagrams, GE Capitall, Sony, Hindustan Times, Mahindra & Mahindra and many more in her own capacity.

With “Chham se vo aa jaye” Akriti made her debut as playback singer with Vishal.Shekhar in film “DUS” and her much awaited song in the Film by Priyadarshan “Chup chup Ke”, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor & Neha Dhupia, music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya, sung by Himesh Ji, Sonu Nigam ,Kunal Ganjawala & Akriti. The song “Dil vich Lagaya veh” is on all channels. Akriti so far has recorded 8 songs with Himeshji in his forthcoming films – Rocky, Chupchup ke, Apne, Good Boy Bad Boy, Millenge Millenge, Red, My name is Anthony Gonzalves also Lucky Kohli’s “Harry Puttar” composed by Guru Sharma….

The next big in the pipeline is Akriti’s fresh original album from Sa Re Ga Ma HMV featuring the living Legend Padam Shree Ustad Sultan Khan Sahab, who blessed Akriti by singing the main video song “ Dhoonde Mann Banwra”, The Album shall be called “Akriti the Solitaire”, composed by Mr. Guru Sharma representing the younger generation from the family of the legendary Music Director duo “ Laxmikant Pyarelal”.
