AM is an indie rock band formed in Los Angeles, California . The band was founded by AM (vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar), and consists of Michael Sawtizke (electric guitar), Mark Getten (bass), Jesse Nason and Brett Bixby (piano, organ, synths), Chris Lovejoy (percussion) and Derek Brown (drums- The Eels/ Everest).
AM was handpicked by the band Air to open their US and Canadian 2010 tour. New AM album “Future Sons & Daughters” produced by Charles Newman (The Magnetic Fields). “Holiday Happiness & Cheer” is an ode to Vince Guaraldi and the Charlie Brown Christmas Special.

The Wallstreet Journal contacted AM to discuss the fact that search engines could not find him and he was “un-googleable”. New album Future Sons & Daughters was produced by Charles Newman (The Magnetic Fields) and recorded in Elliott Smith’s old house and Wilder Brothers Studios.
AM brings a heady brew of twinkling Anglified folk-rock-pop to his new album “Future Sons & Daughters”. AM does all this with an acute, finessing ear for the ancient art of real, true songcraft. With, arguably, some of the best bridges and choruses in the bizness, drawing from the Beatles and Badfinger or Curtis Mayfield and Jorge Ben, AM demonstrates over and again the simple fact of songwriting life: that imagination and taste is what it’s all about.
AM is often compared to Last Shadow Puppets, Wilco, and Beck.

The festive favorite had a bit of a makeover, injected now with bossa nova-influenced guitar, icy synths and a bouncy bass line. "I'm Home For The Holidays,” a spacious orchestral folk song that focuses on the somber elements of holiday time, will also be included. AM will perform these songs live December 8, 2009 at Hotel Café.
