Team B is AKB48 third team. The team first formed at October 2006 with total 16 members. Their first stage is the revival of AKB48’s Team K 2nd Stage 「青春ガールズ」; Seishun Girls which first performed on April 8, 2007. However, their first original stage is Team B 3rd Stage 「パジャマドライブ」; Pajama Drive which first performed on March 1, 2008.
Their first team captain, Kashiwagi Yuki, is announced by Team Shuffle at AKB48 分身の術ツアー/AKB104選抜メンバー組閣祭り; AKB48 Bunshin no Jutsu Tour / AKB104 Senbatsu Members Sokaku Matsuri on August 2009. Later, this team called “Kashiwagi Team B”.

Up until now, the members of the team are in-and-out because of demoted, promotions, and graduations. The biggest and most surprising moment might be the demotion of Minegishi Minami to Kenkyuusei. She is known for being senbatsu member in mostly AKB48’s singles since debuted, as well as one of the first generation of AKB48.
After Team Shuffle at AKB48 in TOKYO DOME ~1830mの夢~; AKB48 in TOKYO DOME ~1830m no Yume~ on August 2012, the team has total 24 members with Umeda Ayaka as captain (Kashiwagi Yuki still the member of the team). This team called “Umeda Team B”.
NMB48’s Watanabe Miyuki joined the team as concurrent member starting from March 2012, she first announced as “the temporary member of Team B”.
SKE48’s Ishida Anna once joined the team as concurrent member during August 2012 until April 2013, before her position revoked.
There is also JKT48’s Takajo Aki joined as concurrent member of the team.
Later, Ichikawa Miori joined as concurrent member to NMB48’s Team N and Oba Mina joined as concurrent member to SKE48’s Team KII. Both officially started from April 2013.

They’re currently performing Team B Waiting Stage and announced will have new stage on February 2014.
