I'd say that this one could be considered as more enjoyable than The Low And Theory, but The Low is the group's most innovative effort.

Better than Low End, imo. Low End is one of the best hip-hop albums of all time, but I think the jazz sound gets kind of repetitive throughout. Whereas, on Marauders, the samples and sounds are fresh and different for each song. Plus, sounds like they are having more fun on here. Also, the Tour Guide beats anything on Low End, hands down. This really says it a lot better than I did.

no-one's debating that their first two aren't, this is just their most complete and concise for me - for a variety of reasons [2]

Not that I don't absolutely LOVE Low End... but Midnight edges it for me.

no-one's debating that their first two aren't, this is just their most complete and concise for me - for a variety of reasons... the thoughtful interludes anchor the album and whilst the jam-oriented tracks are decidedly laid back and less blatantly thematic than those of TLET, they offer more insight and replay value than any other album of theirs - the more you listen... The whole thing just plays beautifully, kinda like Redman's Muddy Waters... It's a cerebral album in every sense of the word - perfectly crafted beats, smooth and upbeat yet forward-thinking and deep...

I respectfully disagree with you guys on "Midnight Marauders" being better than The Low End Theory. Why can't you just say the debut, Low End Theory and this are all classic hip-hop albums? I don't see what's the whole point about which one has more lyrically content about hip-hop/rap, etc. The Tribe Called Quest are very gifted hip-hop/rap group.

I'm glad I'm not the only who thinks this is superior to The Low End Theory... Every track is a celebration of hip-hop and how many vibes it can transcend whilst simultaneously covering immense ground lyrically in a sort of thoughtful, rambling manner... Flawless from start to finish...

Illmatic was decent (yet grossly overrated and one dimensional). ATLiens was the only *trendsetting* album on your list and still < MM. I don't have anything reasonable to say about the other albums on your list other than, I disagree.
