HerFadingSmile: Nice analysis of the situation. PastSanctuary: What songs from Rise do you enjoy?

    last week
  • PastSanctuary

I could understand the loss of passion though. Rise was arguably their weakest release (coming on the heels of what I consider to be an amazing release), and they probably figured their band was in decline. So do their fans. I can only stomach two songs on Rise, whereas almost every other song from every other release was jammable. It was probably a realization that the ship was ripe for abandoning that prompted them to quit.

@iPowers Wires probably is above Adelphia in listeners, but there are three ways people spell out the album name. "Wires...And the Concept of Breathing", "Wires... And the Concept of Breathing" and "Wires and the Concept of Breathing". That's definitely responsible for the lack of listeners on the spelling on this page.

the term "i lost the passion" is kinda "damage control" so no one wonders and that there is no bad blood between the members... but it actually means: lost the passion = u cant' make a living although u work non stop on new music but if u release 4 albums in 6 years and the "big times" of the band is over and no land is in sight, then I would "give up" as well ... u have to create a big hype and the band was non stop on a constant line. they didnt even try to write "wires 2.0" or "she watched the sky part II" ... they didnt even play any songs from these albums recently. no wonder there is no hype, barely fans & money.

it's not really a surprise that of all the people, brian and cory, left. nick and jag were always kinda "bounded" + kyle is living with jag in a apartment. or at least they used to. brian and cory were both vocalists as well but it was kinda senseless because the band became poppier, so brian's uncleans and cory's death growls werent really used anymore... + the hype was long time gone and they didnt make any more money although rise had a good peak position in the billboard 200. brian told me via message that "something is in the works" so maybe he will be lead vocalist in new band. or they form a new band alltogether with jordan and joey... would be fucking badass if u ask me.

"@iPowers: Fearless pushed that album hard when it came out if I'm remembering correctly." Yeah that's about right. These guys were huge for the Spring and Summer of 09. They drew huge crowds at Warped that year. Definitely was the peak era of their popularity.

I'm really surprised that Adelphia has the most listeners and not wires.

I have listened to this band a bit for a couple of years and have only just found out today that the singer is NOT a woman. I just assumed the lass on the front of the albums was the singer... I know thats sheer ignorance on my part haha but I cant be the only one??

So let me get this straight... Everything kind of went downhill after Wires? I haven't listened to any of their stuff since Wires and want to know if it's worth even bothering.

thanks, man. I see this all the time. Some of the layers in the music disappears with only 1 guitarist in this kinda music

Important in this kinda music: 2 guitarists. When a band loses one of them and don't replace him bad stuff happens. Example: this band (and many others)

no one's mad just of the fact that they "changed their sound", it is the fact that Rise has less memorable parts/moments than for example Wires. But it's all just opinions ofcourse.

i thoroughly enjoy rise atm, Identity wqas awesome when it first came out, and is still catchy but i like rise alot has great lyrics, just because a band changes doesnt mean its bad in their case, i think there still mad good even though there sound has changed, whereas a band like linkin park, changed but in a really bad way

This is so far their most catchy, most entertaining and most rock energy filled album. Definitely their top album !! It doesn't bore for one second of listening to it. For me the second best post-hardcore album of the year. The first place is devided between Apparitions and Adept :D.

i have no idea why a lot of people dislike Identity on Fire. It's catchy as hell, has a lot of emotion, and is generally super replayable. if i wanted the sound they put out on Rise, I could have found it from a million other bands who will never put out anything as great as Identity or Wires.

Wires = Identity > Adelphia > SWTS > Rise. I have no idea what the fuck happened on this album. I LOVED the new direction they took with Identity, and they had to put out this unmemorable clusterfuck. great
