This stroke only strengthened her belief in God - something that Maynard found to be pretty ironic.

You have to put it in line with Opiate, a statement against the dogmatism in all organized belief and the stupidity coming out of it, Judith which is venting Frustration and anger about the irony unfairness and finally Wings for Marie which is a very humble kneefall towards the strong belief his mother had.

Love all of Maynard's work but maybe.. just maybe... his mother's belief in her god helped her cope with her affliction. Maybe kept her from blowin her freakin head off. For Maynard to discredit the effectiveness of her god seems a bit selfish. If she hadn't had her god, who would he blame then?
