8-eit

8-eit is a jazz and rock fusion band formed in Japan in May 2005. They started by releasing a few demos: the first in September 2006, then another in April 2007 and a third in August. These releases got them some attention and they were able to organize a tour of their country, which was sold out and hosted in Shibuya on August 8, 2007.

In May 2008, Hiroshi Matsubara joined the band as a pianist. and August of that year saw them release their first of three mini-albums, GLAMOROUS. Their next mini wouldn’t see a release for almost a year, and when HEAVENS DOOR was finally unleashed, it was sold only at live venues. Not to leave some fans out in the cold, 8-eit prepared another mini, Velvet Venus, for release by the end of that year.

2010 saw the release of 8-eit’s first official singles: 太陽の女 and ギラギラ血走る瞳の前に… . Both the A-sides and the B-sides would find a place on their first official album, swingy swindle, which was released late that year.

8-eit announced three consecutive single releases for 2011. The first of these releases, my bullet, will be used as the theme of NTV Poshure. After their nationwide tour, 8-eit announced that they would go on activity pause to “mature as musicians” and stated that they would keep their fans updated.
