5ive Style (also known as Five Style, a name taken from a martial arts technique called “Five Style Fist”) is a Chicago-based funk/jam quartet. Their albums were released on the Subpop label in the 1990’s. The group is made up of two experienced Chicago studio musicians: bassist Leroy Bach (of Liz Phair and Wilco fame) and drummer John Herndon of The Poster Children and Tortoise. Guitarist Billy Dolan(of Heroic Dosesand Das Boton) and keyboardist Jeremy Jacobsen (also known as The Lonesome Organist) complete the quartet.

    Considering the fact that the band split up and Bill Dolan moved on to Heroic Doses, I think you may be correct.

    I devoured both releases when they came out. Constant rotation to this day. I imagine at this point we will not see a third installment.

    Billy Dolan gives this band a unique taste. They're very underrated, but this is a guarantee of quality, as average listeners loves plagiarists and imbeciles (it's the famous "mirror pleasure").
