The “403” part of their name refers to the radio station their music is regularly played on, while “Forbiddena” is the name of the group. It’s also a play off the common “403 Forbidden” message sent by Web servers. Originally a small-time band composed of university students, they became quite popular as a local indie band.
403 released a CD titled “N.E.W.S.” with many of his previous songs and some new ones at the summer Comiket in August 2006.
Recently they changed their official site’s domain to http://403.team-7.net/ and started blogging (403, Hatanaka, 1024, Robert Legacy, 鳳蘇芳).
The band reached Internet fame because of the Japanese Flash movie Nightmare City and its sequel, Nightmare City Catastrophe. Mostly because of Nightmare City, Southern Cross is their most downloaded song.
You can find most of their tracks officially download-able for free here at their muzie profile: http://www.muzie.co.jp/cgi-bin/artist.cgi?id=a003884
Several of their songs are titled after heavenly bodies and effects such as the Northern Lights, Polar Star (North Star), and the Southern Cross.
