Jazz violinist Joe Venuti, Eldon Shamblin (long-time guitarist and arranger for Bob Wills), steel guitarist Curley Chalker and mandolin player Jethro Burns (of Homer & Jethro fame) teamed up in 1977 to cut a record on the Chicago label Flying Fish.

The album, S’Wonderful, covered several Strayhorn & Ellington tunes and some Gershwin as well, with a Western Swing/Jazz approach.
