I really feel this is a good song. The lyrics “We will fight to the death” aren’t meant to be seen in a positive sense, not in that fighting to the death is a good thing for some falsely proceeded freedom. I believe that line is meant to show the inevitability of that happening. This is shown by how even when it is sang that the war is won, the line “We will fight to the death” is repeated.
