1990s are a glasgow, Scotland indie three-piece, signed to rough trade. The guitarist/vocalist, Jackie McKeown was one of the founding members of former Glasgow band, The Yummy Fur. Michael McGaughrin, drummer/vocalist, and new bassist/vocalist Dino Bardot used to be in another Glasgow band, V-Twin. Debut album, Cookies, was released 14th May 2007. The band have received plays from mtv2, and are gradually making a name for themselves.

The band are about to release their second album, Kicks, on 23 March.

sono al primo ascolto, lo confesso, il primo ascolto. Non son un amante del filone indie britannico, ma in questo caso devo ricredermi. Belle sonorita', riff accattivanti, ritornelli semplici, a tratti beatlesiani con qualche pennellata di Jesus and Mary Chain, che da' al brano quel non so che di rock, duro, pastoso. La sorpresa o meglio, cio' che li differenzia dagli altri gruppetti, perche' gli altri son gruppetti, son le chitarre, gli assolo che i brani piu volte pretendono. Devo ricredermi, sì.

Recent interview with 1990s at Webcuts - "Even though we were quite calm and really up for doing it we had a few problems occasionally with the producer and so sometimes it was little bit strained in the studio. But it didn’t affect the music and in fact made the music better."

The album is rather good. Yes, in a different direction to Cookies, it's more laid-back in style. I heard "The Box" when I saw them in concert and rather loved it, so it was a real joy to hear it on Kicks!
