I feel like I might be in the minority here, but I love it. It's the sound of an artist who's extremely confident in pushing themselves to new places. It's an evolution that strictly industrial-centric fans may not enjoy, but the songwriting underneath is fantastic as always.
I absolutely agree. The Negative Space sounds like the next step after Beating Dead Horses and, while it may not be loaded with heavy songs, the most artsy, soft songs have character and are very moving. It shows 16volt are more than just your average Industrial Metal/Rock band, even though, I would never call them "average" to begin with. Either way, the new album is a winner for me.
The thing with 16Volts breakup compared to other bands is slightly different because half of them are still carrying on. Just go check out Black December, Eric Powell is vocalist for them and it is basically carrying off where 16Volt finished. The demo tracks they have released are also awesome.
