To mean well is not hard ,1000 Robota are a threepiece from Hamburg,
Germany. Whilst Jonas Hinnerkort (17) und Sebastian Muxfeldt (17) still divide their time between school and stage, singer Anton Spielmann (18) is
vehemently on the lookout for the new, the strange, …forever restless. This also goes for the band’s sound. Live and on record.
Loud, nervy, aggressive, with quiet & bloody breaks, holding out for the

drummers re-entry. The sound? Early Palais Schaumburg meets Black Wire with a bit Television thrown in… woah!

The band, which until recently had partaken in mindless bandbattles in order to get on stage at all, has in the last few months played and shaken the most important ‚Kiez’ Clubs in Hamburg’s St. Pauli district (Molotow, Prinzenbar,
Kaiserkeller etc.). And that’s including the legendary scuffle and near fistfight between band, fans, label folk and mentally less gifted bouncers at a recent Reeperbahn show. They’ve also supported many a newly befriended UK band, leading to London DJs playing 1000 Robota songs off their myspace site, celebrating Anton’s 18th birthday in the Klaxons nightliner and a call from the NME to interview the band. And this is a band that sings in German!

1000 Robota gigs are usually accompanied by Anton playing his hands bloody on a fake Fender electric guitar and a manically twitching audience, of which half go off on the doggedly sloganesgue lyricism of the group, whilst the other worry about the bands health. Seeing 1000 Robota play, you instantly feel a need to help, somehow.
