Biography

1000 Vertical Feet IS post-electro. Plain and simple… live musicians performing jungle-beats to tender and ethereal flights. No pre-recorded samples WHATSOEVER. This group has pioneered a unique mix of analog electronics, serrated yet cunning guitar and fearless percussion. 1KVF provides a direct link between the band-oriented world of indie-rock and the increasingly popular live-electro culture.

Their live shows are legendary and have helped the band develop a diverse fanbase, which is why established acts as distinct as LTJ Bukem, Adam F, MC Conrad, Daedelus, Elliot Lipp, 20/20 Soundsystem, Sound Tribe Sector 9, The New Deal, Lotus, Future Rock, Cougar and many others have all shared their stage with 1KVF.

The rich pads and schizophrenic nature of Squarepusher and Aphex Twin and the bending compositions of indie artists Tortoise and Red Snapper have inspired 1KVF to explore what they are capable of doing in the studio. 1KVF has truly invented the new sound of Post-Electro on this release.

1000 Vertical Feet is: Drums David Suycott, Bass Brian Kallies, Keyboards Jason Slade, Guitar Wilson. 1KVF hails from Chicago.

Past members include: Todd Hill, Dan Kummer, Greg Kolsto, Bill Aldridge, Felix Moreno, Chris Newton
